There is to be a complete Mahler cycle at the Bridgewater Hall in
Manchester between January and June next year. The Halle and BBC Philharmonic are
the orchestras doing the honours with Noseda, Elder and Stenz taking the
podium. The Eighth will see the Halle and the BBC PO combined. That should
be worth hearing. I hope the BBC broadcast them like they did the
Shostakovish cycle mounted by the same forces.
